So, I was at a stop sign waiting to make a right turn onto an intersecting highway when a police cruiser traveling on the highway passed by slowly, with the officer staring at my car attentively.

Shortly after, I made a right turn onto the highway, traveling within the posted speed limits. I noticed the cruiser ahead, which appeared to be slowing down, eventually pulling off to the center of the highway, waiting for me to pass.

After I did, the officer got behind me, then activated his lights and siren, signaling me to pull over. He approached my car and asked for my driver’s license, registration, and insurance.

I informed him that I am not engaged in commerce, further stating that I’m just trying to go grocery shopping. I asked why he pulled me over, and he said it was due to no tags on the vehicle.

He then asked why I don’t have tags, and I explained it’s because I am not for hire, nor is my car used for commercial purposes, only private.

He told me I am required to have a driver’s license to drive any vehicle on public roadways, and the vehicle must be legally registered with the state in which I reside.

I asked him about the distinct legal difference between driving and traveling, as well as the meaning of vehicle vs. automobile. He responded by saying he’s just trying to find out if I’m legal to drive.

He then asked for my name, which I provided, and he walked back to his cruiser. During this time, two other cruisers arrived.

The officer approached me a second time, this time accompanied by another officer who immediately placed tire spikes under my car, without explaining why.

The officer asked more questions about where I reside, how long I’ve owned the vehicle, and where I purchased it.

I asked him about the oath he has taken and his duty to uphold the Constitution of the United States. He said the Constitution does not exempt me from driver’s license or vehicle registration requirements.

I asked to speak to his supervisor. The supervisor came to my window and introduced himself. I explained the situation, stressing that I’m being unlawfully detained without reasonable suspicion of a crime, and there’s no lawful basis for them to continue detaining me.

I attempted to hand him documents relating to my rights, but before I could finish explaining, the supervisor interrupted aggressively, accusing me of being a sovereign citizen.

My passenger, who was recording the encounter, asked why he’s so upset and speaking to me disrespectfully. This seemed to anger him more.

I calmly corrected him, stating that I cannot be a sovereign citizen because only God is truly sovereign over all His creation, and even He is not a citizen of what He has created.

I tried to explain that one cannot be both sovereign and a citizen at the same time, as being a citizen is a creation of the state, and no state can lawfully make such a claim because the state did not create me.

I reminded him that he was violating his oath, knowingly depriving me of my right to travel freely, and maliciously using the color of law to harass and threaten me and my passengers without just cause.

He refused to review the documentation I was offering, which outlined my reserved rights and my unwillingness to contract with the state.

This angered him further, and he attempted to open my door to remove me. Fearing for my safety, I rolled up my window, stating I was doing so for my protection.

Another officer then threw something at my window, shattering it, and I was pulled out of the car and arrested for obstruction or refusing to cooperate with an ongoing police investigation, along with failing to register and title a motor vehicle, and driving while suspended, even though I’ve never had a license in the state to be suspended.

At arraignment, I challenged the court’s jurisdiction, but the judge responded, “Oh, we’re not doing that here today,” and entered a not guilty plea on my behalf without my consent.
