I prepaid a hotel room for another party in exchange for their agreed-upon assistance, only for them to refuse performance and rack up a $1,400 tab. To uphold my end of the bargain, I continued occupying the room and personally covered the remaining balance after they departed, yet they neither reimbursed me nor rendered the promised help. As a result, I’ve suffered a financial loss despite fulfilling my obligations.

New Hampshire home warranty issue: We’ve contacted the contractor multiple times. We’re dealing with warranty issues from a post-fire home rebuild, including improper hardwood installation (gaps and face nails), damaged tile, missing trim work, and caulking failure in the bathroom. The contractor has acknowledged some issues but refuses to coordinate proper repairs. They offered an insufficient payout and want us to find and manage contractors ourselves. We’re seeking full reimbursement or proper repair coordination under the warranty.

I signed a matchmaking contract for $50,000 for “up to three” introductions. I questioned this low number, and they said it was because they were so precise in their methods and only take clients they believe will be successful. It seems (online) that others got many more matches for the same money. When I questioned the owner after my contract expired, she said, “It was the contract you signed.” Of the introductions I had, the profiles were exaggerated or inaccurate — things like traveling to Africa, owning a home, or speaking another language that weren’t true.
