My bank won’t reimburse my loss after I was scammed.
I’m sorry to hear that you’re dealing with this frustrating situation. Can you tell me when the scam occurred and how much money was involved?
The scam occurred around July 29th, 2025, and for $4,999.
Have you already reported the scam to your bank and any relevant authorities?
I reported it to my bank only, and they have concluded nothing can be done. It’s a loss for me.
Is there anything else the lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured they’ll be able to help with your bank reimbursement.
Yes.
Thank you for using AskaLawyer. My name is Dan and I’m happy to help. What happened with the scam?
The bank said it’s a loss for me, nothing else they can do.
Did you approve the payment?
Well, no. The scammer essentially transferred the funds from the account I only make mortgage payments out of. The scammer basically sent over texts of verification codes. I did not approve anything. My bank clearly knows and has records of all my transfers for over 9 years — that this account is only used to pay them, who are my mortgage handlers.

No.
