[CA] What are my options if my husband and I disagree on our divorce settlement?

My husband and I are going through a divorce. We planned to settle outside of court with our own MSA, but after 10 months of separation, we haven't agreed on spousal or child support. I was a stay-at-home mom finishing my bachelor’s degree at SDSU while caring for our children. He's still living in our co-owned home and won’t release my half of the equity—$150,000. He gives me small sums to cover bills, then complains and stops helping. I want to stop his financial control and know my legal options.

We made some changes to our marital settlement agreement. Do I need to change the date?

We signed a marital settlement agreement made on January 24, 2025, and had it notarized, but never filed. We just made some changes to the agreement. Do I need to change the original date to today’s date, or can I leave it as is and get it notarized for an uncontested divorce?

How do I get my husband to agree to a settlement already signed when I file for divorce next month?

What is a good approach to try to get my husband to agree to a settlement already signed when I file for divorce next month? He committed adultery and we could have a no-fault divorce if he agrees to a fair amount. He is the provider but wants to stop spousal support soon. If I ask for 50% of his 401(k), he wants to deduct the vehicle's value I’m driving now—which he and his sister gave me (but is still in his name) after his dad passed in May 2023.

My husband and I divided all property at the time of writing the MSA, including the dog went with me — the dog is not called out in the MSA, but we said all property was divided — so I just wanted to see in filing for divorce now with MSA do I need to call out the dog separately — and if so, this seems to nullify or weaken the MSA to me?
