What do I do if my minor child refuses to go to school?
If your 17-year-old will not go to school, that can unfortunately cause problems with truancy. If he was successful with the online program, that could be an option to finish out his program.
At 17, you could also suggest a GED. Depending on the state, 17 may also be old enough to make the unfortunate decision not to go back to school.
If that occurs, the GED or online program may still encourage him to finish his diploma. I hope this is of help.
