A former Virginia-based employer is asking for repayment of a sign-on bonus “loan” for remaining employed for 16 of the 18 months required for the loan. I’m seeking assistance in reviewing the sign-on bonus contract and representation for a proposed prorated repayment amount — and to potentially set a repayment schedule. I’m also open to counsel for the best option to handle this situation.

I need to subpoena my employer for records from an EEO investigation that they completed and now are refusing to tell me the results of the investigation, and then possibly sue them for gender discrimination. I was detained by police because my work ID did not match my physical characteristics or, according to the people that detained me, my gender. I have video evidence of the discrimination.

Now that I’m on disability retirement, my employer is trying to change the medical benefit package that I had been promised. For the last month and a half, they’ve been avoiding questions, and their answers are contradictory. What rights do I have as a longtime employee of over 20 years?

I was recently fired from a job for leaving a negative review of my company on their page. The reason behind the review was because I’ve had multiple meetings — 3 or more — with the owner and the GM of the company about another employee’s safety and driving while I was in the truck with him. I told them very seriously, multiple times, that I did not want to ride with him anymore and that he was a safety risk to my life. He did something so bad that I felt the need to write the review because I felt unsafe at work and unable to talk to my bosses anymore about it. Am I able to sue for wrongful termination or unsafe working environment or anything?

At my company, I reported multiple wage law violations—pay transparency, pay equity, job misclassification, and potential noncompliance with FLSA, ADA, and OSHA—to my supervisor Amanda, the VP of HR (Jason), and the Director of HR (Megan). I also advocated for diversity and inclusion. These efforts were approved and applauded, but I was terminated the day the JD Expert initiative was to be implemented—two weeks after approval—despite strong performance and no negative reviews. The company gave false reasons. I didn’t realize it was retaliation until I asked my former supervisor for an MBA reference and she didn’t provide it.

I am a board certified music therapist in Mississippi (MT-BC) and a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) working for a telehealth IOP. The company has removed the words “therapist” and “therapy” from our job description and is asking me to sign consent to a job description starkly different than my initial one, as group therapy is no longer in it. They’ve restructured as a lower level of care providing “psychoeducational” only. My title will no longer say therapist and clients will be receiving music therapy services in group, NOT psychoeducational. We will internally operate as an IOP, not a lower level of care.
