[KS] I’m making a small estate affidavit for my sister who died in Hawaii, but I can’t go there to have the form notarized. Can I do it in my state?
You can have it notarized in any state.
In the state you sign, the notary will witness and notarize it.
Once you notarize it, send it the probate court, but I would get specific directions from the court clerk and use overnight mail or a courier.

I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your sister. Were you named as the executor or administrator of her estate in Hawaii?
She did not have anyone. I was her only emergency contact.
In which state are you currently located and seeking to have the Small Estate Affidavit notarized?
Kansas.
