If I cross the border by mistake, can I return to the US?
How are you doing today?
I don’t see how this would affect you negatively. If you traveled and were admitted back to the U.S., then that shouldn’t cause any issues.

I was told that I accidentally crossed into Canada from the US and had to return through a port of entry.
I have a green card, and I got through the US port of entry without issues. Could this cause me future problems?

I understand your concern. Can you please clarify if you were questioned or faced any issues when re-entering the US through the port of entry?
I was first told by a CBP officer that an RCMP officer had seen me accidentally cross into the border, and the CBP officer directed me to the Peace Arch Port of Entry to present myself for inspection.

Have you had any previous immigration violations or encounters with border officials in either the US or Canada before this incident occurred?
I have not had any violations, and my only encounters have been simple and legal admissions at airport immigration.

Is there anything else the immigration lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured they’ll be able to help with your border crossing incident.
No
