I need help evicting a friend with a drug problem.
My sister owns the house I live in and I allowed a friend to live there. He has been there for about 21 years. In the last 5 years he appears to have developed schizophrenia and has tried to self-medicate with marijuana and meth. He often hallucinates and hears voices and talks back to the voices which can be screaming and through the night. He has trashed one or more rooms in the house three times. The City has red-tagged the house and will only remove it if I start the process of eviction.

He has an appointment tomorrow to talk to a county worker about options of where he may be able to go. He doesn’t know yet, and the worker will arrive tomorrow at 9 am. That is an option, but at this point, I am just trying to get the 60-day notice to him so that I don’t get kicked out by the red tag on Friday. I am figuring that if I give him the papers on June 18th, then 60 days would be Friday, September 12th, which includes only weekdays and not July 4 or Labor Day.
