I am having a dispute with my landlord about repairs. What can I do?

The HOA requested some cosmetic repairs done to the front-facing part of the property. My landlord seemed to have taken this opportunity to pay the subcontractors to rip out all of my back screened area. This has not been completed since 05/13/25. Now birds are entering my patio area and becoming a nuisance.

Can I sue a bank for not depositing my check due to racial discrimination?

So I had a real US Treasury Department tax check from 2023 that I was trying to cash at the BMO bank and they wouldn't deposit it at the time due to racially discrimination against me and didn’t believe the check was real. Is there a possibility that I can seek litigation beyond that matter or is too late? I didn’t know what to do at the time so I endorsed into roommate’s account and he stole it from me.

[NY] [NY] My landlord removed my mother from my lease and is evicting me after I withheld rent in retaliation. How should I proceed?

My mother tried to get help for rental arrears but was denied because she wasn’t on the lease anymore. I formally complained to the landlord, asking for my mother to be put back on the lease and explaining my financial hardship. The landlord said she’d reinstate her once the first debt was paid. I paid it — but she didn’t put her back. So, I withheld rent because the landlord retaliated by trying to evict me.
