Nurses and staff are mentioning personal things about my life in the past that are shifting the NAs, CNAs, and some in-charge nurses’ service toward me and my roommates. The banter has nothing to do with why I am in this hospital, and I fear one of these employees on the floor I’m recuperating on after surgery is a stalker from 2014.

A white female student stalked and harassed me for half a year. The university placed a no-contact directive on her, which she violated. I got a temporary restraining order against her — she violated that too. After a long, year-long investigation, the university found that she did engage in stalking, harassment, and racial and age discrimination. Her sanction was a three-year suspension, a permanent no-contact order, and mandatory behavioral training. I appealed, saying the emotional and academic harm I suffered warranted a harsher sanction, but my appeal was denied. I believe the instructor of the class where this occurred failed to (a) protect me and (b) properly report the harassment. The university also dragged their feet during the investigation and didn’t act in my best interest. I want to sue the university for damages.

I obtained new homeowners insurance and gave them a copy of my previous policy, asking for coverages to be similar. I also sent pictures of my home. It turns out they didn’t give me sufficient coverage, and now I have a loss. They also didn’t put the right information into my policy, like the fact that I have a metal roof — even though I told them and sent pictures. I feel like they made an error on my policy, and now I can’t reclaim losses.

This is a medical malpractice case in Harris County (Texas). On 6/25/25 the judge signed an order to dismiss a defendant without prejudice. I added the defendant on a related JAMS arbitration case on 7/29/25. No parties appealed the 6/25/25 order, which became final after 21 days, I believe. Instead, the non-suited defendant requested a 2nd hearing for dismissal with prejudice under TCPR 74.351. A different judge signed that order on 7/31/25. How can the judge sign dismissal with prejudice if the defendant wasn’t added back in the court case? Proper venue is arbitration (FAA invoked). I plan to file a writ of mandamus to stay proceedings. I also need to move to vacate the 7/31/25 order—what are the grounds? The defendant was already dismissed, right? The 7/31/25 order says my 6/25/25 nonsuit didn’t preclude the defendant’s argument. Please advise.

I’m on H1B and in a tricky work situation. My manager and director are being unreasonable in a toxic way that’s affecting my mental health. I’m reaching out to HR, but I want to protect my legal status while I find another job. My H1B is renewing on August 31, 2025 (current I-797 to a new one valid from September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2028). If I get fired now (or quit), another attorney told me I must leave the U.S. on or before August 31, 2025 to avoid accruing unlawful presence. If I get fired (or quit) on or after September 1, 2025, I’ll have 60 days to leave. How can I protect my legal status while in this tricky situation? Can I initiate a B2 already, anticipating retaliation, to prevent unlawful presence if I’m fired today? If I get fired today, how long does it take to file I-539? Will I have sufficient time before August 31, 2025?

I was assured someone would contact me and let me know if things changed and they wanted to repossess my car. The company claims they called me on 3 different dates, but I have no calls or messages on my side. They knew I travel for a living and am never home. I have my account on paperless billing and we communicate via email and phone. They did not send me an email. They mailed me a letter and took my car in the middle of the night. I did not have a chance to do anything about the payment, return my car, or remove my things. When my belongings were returned to me, many things had been stolen. They will not give me access to our correspondence without an attorney, and so far no attorney wants to take my case without the information they refuse to give.
