I understand that in South Carolina, when a spouse passes away, the title to the home is automatically transferred to the surviving spouse. What form is used for this? Also, I am a small estate judgment in probate court. Should the home be listed under that form as a real estate holding for my deceased wife?

My fiancé and I purchased a condominium together for the price of $325,000. I paid $299,000 and he paid $26,000. We had another financial arrangement concerning his investments and placing me on those, and he has not fulfilled the verbal agreement. In the event we do not stay together, I would like a quitclaim deed transferring the entire condo to my name solely. He has agreed with some provisions, which we will put in writing. Is there anything I should know?

I am an 18-year-old female who wants to change my last name. My birth certificate in El Paso County, Texas, originally listed another man as my father. My real father gained custody of me when I was 4, and a DNA paternity test was taken, stating positive. I have had a birth certificate with the original name for the past 18 years, but now I want to get a driver’s license and need to change the last name on my birth certificate.

I am going through a separation. I will buy him out to keep my house. I am giving him a one-time payout of 200K through a refinance. I want to make sure this document covers that this one-time payout is all he can come after, and he can not sue me later on for any more cash or to make me sell the house.

I am co-owner of my home with a friend, and we are filed tenants in common. We are completing the transfer on death deed, where if something happened to either of us, the house would be transferred to the other. Would we have one document with both of us as beneficiaries, or do we need two separate documents, where each of us are individually the beneficiary?

Hello Sir -- My father has two inoperable brain tumors and will pass away once treatment concludes. My parents are trying to make sure the ownership of their home is written under my mother and me. I have put together a quitclaim deed for the state of Florida, but I’m not sure if this is all I need in order to make this happen. It doesn’t mention anything about survivorship or ownership transferring to us upon his death. Could I have you review the original deed and the quitclaim?

In NC I wanted to clarify that when a separation occurs are both parties still responsible to pay their portion of a marital home in order to have their legal share of the home should it be sold once the divorce is set to be done after the year has passed?

I believe that I am currently being defrauded by a computer repair company and am looking for advice on whether I have a claim against them or not. My laptop has been in for repair for 42 days, and during that time, it has had its motherboard replaced twice. After that, it was shipped to their repair facility, where they are claiming the laptop was dropped and has damage to the charge port, and they wish to enact my “Accidental” coverage to fix it, which only has a one-time-per-year activation. The laptop was never dropped. I believe they damaged it during one of the two repairs to the motherboard, and they are now trying to defraud me and place blame on me. I want to know if I have a legal claim to this. I have proof of the repairs being done and constant logs of my chats with agents throughout this entire process.
