If my dog is provoked and bites someone can they sue?
I live in Massachusetts, and my friend/roommate was bitten by my dog after getting in his face and ignoring the warning signs he was giving off.
There were about 7 other people in the room who witnessed this. The dog has not bitten anyone before, and now she is talking about suing for the bite.

I would say her position is fairly weak because if you provoke an animal and then it responds with its natural inclination to defend itself then you can't hold the animal nor the owner liable for your injuries.
And the only thing that she could attempt to sue for is her medical bills and any type of cosmetic procedures to deal with any scarring, if there was any.
