[IL] [IL] I co-signed a lease for an acquaintance who used my credit card information without my consent to pay rent for seven months, totaling about $12,000. What can I do?

They admitted it was a mistake and agreed to repay me, and I have evidence of this. They have also defrauded another individual. My credit card company has reversed some of the fraudulent charges. The leasing company is attempting to collect rent from me, even though I wasn’t the primary tenant and they haven’t contacted them. The acquaintance has stopped responding to my messages. This situation is in Chicago, IL.

What should I do if someone is using fake numbers to harass me and make threats?

Someone is harassing me and using fake phone numbers to make threats against me, and I don’t know how to move forward. I’ve made a couple of police reports, but I don’t know what else I can do. [MN] [MN] How do I handle a misdemeanor license citation?

A Shakopee police officer falsely charged me for a misdemeanor that I didn’t commit. I should have been charged for not having an MN license, as I had an active AZ license, but lived full-time in MN and was honest with the officer immediately (I’d assume/hope his camera was on during the speeding traffic stop). What are my options? Now, because of this, I found out MN temporarily suspended my driving privileges in MN. I, without question, want to receive damages for this.

[FL] [FL] Am I responsible for my late husband’s credit card debts and at risk of losing the house?

I'm in Florida. My husband passed in April. I am getting requests from credit card companies addressed to "The Estate of..." The house was in his name and I am the successor. There are no other assets or money — we lived month to month. Am I responsible for his debt, and can they come after the house? I think there may be 3–5 different cards, totaling around $10,000.
