I’m a neurosurgeon. Is there anything I can do to protect my assets from lawsuits? I frequently work on metastatic lesions. Can I protect my home equity, retirement account, etc., from a future malpractice claim that exceeds my coverage? I’m in Anchorage, Alaska.

Do I need a lawyer to contest new collection fees after I already paid up?

I fell way behind on my HOA payments and they sent the account to collections. While negotiating with collections, I was locked out of the HOA payment portal and told not to contact the HOA, so I couldn’t make HOA payments during that time. The collection company sent a final invoice for the total owed. I paid the collection company 100% plus their fees (over $2k). Since then I’ve made all HOA payments on time. Now the collection company says I owe additional months and new fees. Do I have to accept and pay, hire an attorney and fight, or hire an attorney and counter-sue?

Where do I file a motion to stay proceedings pending arbitration under 9 U.S.C. § 3? I filed a related case in a Harris County district court (Texas), and there’s a related arbitration. The judge says she can’t rule on federal law, which I disagree with. Should I appeal in the state appellate court or file in federal court?

I need to file a construction lien in Bozeman, Montana, 59718, and I have filed the “Notice of Claim to File a Lien” but am unsure on the process moving forward. It was suggested to me to seek legal advice. So far, I have filed the Notice with the county recorder, given the notice to the general manager of the property (private apartment complex near college) to pass along, and I need to wait 5 days until I can file the lien. I would like to attach my Notice that has already been filed to make sure things look okay, and to confirm what I need to prepare to file the actual lien. Thank you.

[CA] [CA] How do I handle a customer with allergies?

We hold seminars on spirituality and received an email from a student who is attending our event in August 2025. She informed us about a serious allergy she has. We are concerned about the implications of her choosing not to bring an EpiPen in the event of a medical emergency, and how that could affect us or anyone who may need to help her if such an emergency occurs. What should we do — have her sign a waiver or prevent her from attending unless she brings an EpiPen? This is her email: I am planning on attending the Arhatic Yoga retreat in August 2025.My allergy is NOT common, but since you are offering vegetarian options, I thought I should mention it. Anaphylactic shock to grapefruit. Slight irritation to pomelo. Usually, I can smell it a mile away, so I stay clear of citrus mixes just in case. No other citrus gives me a problem, and I love citrus in general!I don’t carry an EpiPen because I am old enough to be aware of what I’m putting in my system most of the time. If it’s my time to go, it’s my time! LOL With my best wishes,
