[WA] [WA] How can I get a document notarized if it doesn’t have a space for a notary to sign?
The notary should be able to notarize your signature on a separate sheet of paper called a Notary Acknowledgement, on which they can indicate the name of the document and the facts that you presented an ID and they observed you sign the document (WA Rev Code § 42.45.130(1)). The Notary Acknowledgement is then stapled to the document.

I am trying to get a student visa signed for my daughter and we need paperwork notarized. The official Czeck paperwork does not have a space for the notary to sign. If we add the notary wording for Washington state, does that void the paperwork?

Hello! I understand the importance of getting the student visa paperwork notarized correctly. Have you already added the notary wording for Washington state to the Czech paperwork?
Not yet. We went to the notary and they sent us home to add the wording.

Are you looking for guidance on how to proceed with notarizing the Czech paperwork for your daughter's student visa application?
Yes, I am.

Is there anything else the lawyer should know before I connect you? Rest assured they'll be able to help with your notarization issue.
We are on a very tight timeline.

Hello and welcome to AskaLawyer. My name is Ben and I'm a licensed attorney.

I want to make sure I understand your question. You have a Czech document that you want to sign in Washington, and you need a notary to notarize your signature. Is this correct?
Correct. The notary won't notarize it because it doesn't have the correct wording for Washington state.
If I add the correct wording, I want to do my best to make sure the visa gets approved.
Benjamin
Does the document have a title?
Yes, they both do have titles.
Benjamin
Are the titles readable to an English speaker (even if they don't understand what it says)?
Yes, they are both translated into English.
Benjamin
Thank you for clarifying.

I hope that helps.
Thank you very much.
Is this something I can just create or is there specific wording needed?
Benjamin
The notary public should have that form. I am very surprised they did not have it. You may have to go to a different notary.
Thanks, I appreciate it. I’ll ask before we head to one. Thank you for your help.
Benjamin
You are welcome. It was my pleasure to assist you.
