You report self-employment income on Schedule C of your personal tax return (Form 1040). Schedule C is also used to report your expenses pertaining to the self-employment income.
So how do I efile my schedule c?
Barbara
You can file your return manually, using tax preparation software, or by visiting a local tax professional.
I still don’t understand.
Barbara
I'm not sure why you don't understand. You have to file a tax return. If you are self-employed, Schedule C is part of your tax return.
Schedule C is the form I submit to the IRS to file my tax return, right?
Barbara
You need:
- Form 1040
- Schedule C
- Schedule SE
- Schedule 1
- Schedule 2
My business doesn’t have An EIN, will my SSN work for the Schedule C?
Barbara
Yes
I thought Form 1040 is for employees.
Barbara
Form 1040 is the main tax form. All other forms are part of the tax return.
OK
